Members of the CSI Academy of Retired Professors (ARP) gathered in the Campus Center Park Café to chart the course of the organization, and find ways of growing its membership. The overall atmosphere of the meeting was warm and responsive.
CSI alumnus and Treasurer of the CSI Foundation Board Richard Prinzi, Jr. CPA, of the accounting firm Prinzi & Tapinis, LLC, has recently announced the creation of a $25,000 scholarship endowment to help CSI students who are pursuing their Certified Public Accountant certification. Originally, a four-year program, CPA certification now requires five years.
Four out of the 25 Fellows who comprise the latest class at the prestigious CUNY Leadership Academy are from CSI, making the College’s contingent the largest in this year’s Academy. They include Qimei Luo, Jimmy Domdeth, Linda Gomez, and Katrina Hannan.
The Staten Island Chapter of the New York Urban League recently honored Miriam Perez-Lai, Counselor in CSI’s SEEK (Search for Education, Elevation, and Knowledge) Program, by presenting her with their Health and Social Welfare Award. Perez-Lai received the award at the organization’s 44th Annual Awards Luncheon.
The Marketing Association of CSI recently held their semester event. This year 45 students from all different majors came to meet Janine LeChillgrien, an associate account manager at Google, and a former CSI student.
